Fort Bragg soldier charged with rape

FAYETTEVILLE, NC (WTVD) -- Detectives with the Fayetteville Police Department's Special Victims Unit have arrested a Fort Bragg soldier.

Christian Taylor Benoit, 22, is charged with first-degree forcible rape and first-degree forcible sex offense.

The alleged attack happened May 8. Detectives said Benoit was an acquaintance of the alleged victim.

Benoit was taken to the Cumberland County Detention Center. He posted a $25,000 bond and was released.
