Neighbors rescued a dog from a house fire in Johnston County

CLAYTON, N.C. (WTVD) -- Neighbors came to a dog's rescue during an intense house fire in Johnston County Friday night.

The fire broke out on Southmeade Drive near Clayton. Firefighters are still working to determine what caused the blaze.

Crews on the scene said neighbors rescued the homeowner's dog from the burning house. No one else was home at the time.

Officials are investigating.
