Raleigh police investigating two crime scenes after a shooting early Monday morning.

RALEIGH (WTVD) -- Police in Raleigh are investigating a shooting that injured a man early Monday morning.

The incident started in the 1600 block of Burgundy Street near an apartment complex and ended on New Bern Avenue, near Raleigh Boulevard.

Authorities tell ABC11 that the man was shot just after 3:30 a.m. His condition is unknown at this time.

Police said the unidentified man apparently saved his own life by playing dead after someone fired gunshots into his vehicle.

Officers are still searching for the gunman.
