Winning lottery ticket about to expire
A ticket bought in Cary in April is worth $25,000 every year for life, but only if the holder claims it by Oct. 7.

CARY (WTVD) -- Time is running out for one lottery winner in the Triangle.

Someone bought a Lucky for Life ticket at the Harris Teeter on Highway 55 in Cary on April 11.

The ticket was a winner - worth $25,000 a year for life.

But it's set to expire next week.

Lottery winners have 180 days to claim a prize. And in this case that means that if they don't come forward by Oct. 7, the ticket is no longer valid and the money goes back into the lottery jackpot.

Better check your pockets soon.
