Free bus rides this week in Cary
GoCary is offering free bus rides this week on its fixed routes, complete with WiFi and app tracking.

CARY, N.C. (WTVD) -- The Town of Cary's C-Tran Bus system has been re-branded GoCary and to celebrate, the public can ride for free on fixed routes through Oct. 8.

"What this really does is it pulls together everybody so the public can see visually that we work together on a regular basis," explained Ray Boylston. "So now, we've got GoRaleigh, GoDurham, GoTriangle, and GoCary as part of that network."

Along with the new name, the town has also rolled out 28 new vehicles with improved technologies.

"On the new vehicles as well as our fixed route services and door to door service, they lower to the curve, they have wider entrances and they look great," Boylston said. "We have Wi-Fi on all our buses now and we also have an app they can look and see where the bus is anytime. So, it takes the mystery of when the bus is gonna get here,"
