Swanky DMV opens in Holly Springs

HOLLY SPRINGS, N.C. (WTVD) -- What comes to your mind when you think of a trip to the DMV? Most likely, it's nothing like the one in Holly Springs.

People flock to this DMV just to hang out and use the Wi-Fi. It's one of nearly 130 privately-owned DMVs in the state.

Instead of long lines of angry people, customers walk in to find fast lines ... if there's a line at all. There's also freshly brewed coffee and baked cupcakes.

More than 200 customers go to this DMV each day, and it boasts one of the shortest wait times in the state.

The owner and operator wanted to show people a DMV could run well and actually be a positive experience.
