Bystanders rushed in to help

Bystanders rushed in to help when an SUV slammed into a gas station in south Florida Sunday and it was all caught on video.

The SUV burst into flames, and witnesses were worried the whole gas station would blow up.

But that didn't stop a group that included Herbert Tarvin from going to the rescue. The driver was able to get out on his own, but a passenger could not.

"...so I'm like, 'Hey, let's get her out. Let's get her out. You coming next. Let's get her out.' To me, she was unconscious. She couldn't even move. A lot of people trying to get her out, but the window was so small. It was flipped over," Tarvin recalled.

Tarvin and the group managed to get her out of the burning car and pull her to safety.

It's not the first time he's made national headlines. WSVN-TV in Miami reports he also got national attention in 1997 as an 11-year-old boy when an armored car rolled over and he returned 85 cents he found on the street.

The good deed earned him and his class a trip to Disney World.
