Police said four men armed with handguns forced open the door

FAYETTEVILLE (WTVD) -- One person was shot during a home invasion in Fayetteville Monday night.

It happened around 9:30 p.m. in the 900 block of Waterless Street.

Police said four men armed with handguns forced open the door to the home. They confronted 57-year-old Lonnie Jackson inside and shot him as they fled, according to authorities.

Jackson was taken to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center and is listed in critical condition.

Police are investigating. No arrests have been made and the victim's name is being withheld until family is notified.
