Hundreds gathered in Cary

CARY, N.C. (WTVD) -- Hundreds of mothers and daughters gathered Sunday afternoon to stuff stockings in Cary for those in need.

It was all part of the annual Carolina Lily Chapter Holiday Stuffing Party. The teams sewed and decorated over 1,400 stockings.

The gifts will benefit six local charities that help children, families, and pets.

800 stockings were stuffed with school supplies that will go to the Brown Bag ministries in Raleigh. 50 stockings went to families staying at the Ronald McDonald House.

Volunteers also collected more than two hundred toys to give to dogs and cats at the SPCA of Wake County.
