Raleigh teacher charged with sex with student
RALEIGH (WTVD) -- An Athens Drive High School teacher is charged with having sex with a student in Henderson County.
Students tipped ABC11 Tuesday that investigators had removed 29-year-old Devon Ross Lategan from the classroom at Athens Drive, but he was not charged until late Wednesday.
According to a booking report, the alleged incident happened in June.
ABC11 stopped by his Apex home on Thursday. A woman answered the door and declined to speak about the charge.
We don't know Lategen's status right now within the Wake County School District.
Lategan used to teach at West Henderson High School. According to his bio, he graduated from Chapel Hill High School and UNC Chapel Hill.
Bond was set at $50,000. He had bonded out as of Thursday.
He is scheduled to go before a judge Monday in Henderson County.
