Man killed in shooting at Durham hotel

DURHAM (WTVD) -- Durham police are investigating after a fatal shooting Sunday night at the Crossland Economy Studios off Highway 55.

Officers responded just before 8 p.m.

Police said one man was found dead inside a hotel room from an apparent gunshot wound. Officers had a room on the third floor roped off.

On Monday, authorities identified the man killed as George Beamon, 50, of Raleigh.

Our crew on the scene said another person went to the hospital.

No word yet on any suspects.
