RALEIGH, North Carolina (WTVD) --The Raleigh Police Department says a 12-year-old student was hit by a car near Daniels Middle School in Raleigh after school Thursday.
Police said the girl was walking off the school property to be picked up at the end of the school day and did not look both ways before walking into the road.
The child's guardian was waiting in the carpool lane, giving directions, and that's when the girl was hit according to witnesses.
The student was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the car was identified as 91-year-old Eugene Baskett of Raleigh.
