Cumberland County track coach charged with having sex with student

HOPE MILLS, North Carolina (WTVD) -- Aaron Matthew Holmes, a 27-year-old track coach at South View High School in Cumberland County, has been arrested and charged with having sex with a student.

Holmes has been charged with six counts of sexual activity with a student.

Authorities said Holmes was also a substitute teacher at the high school. Deputies said Holmes is accused of having sexual intercourse with the student between Nov. 2, 2015, and Feb. 13, 2016.

Holmes, from Fayetteville, no longer works for the school system.

He was taken to the Cumberland County Jail where he is being held under a $150,000 secured bond.
