FAYETTEVILLE (WTVD) -- Authorities in Fayetteville are investigating a crash that killed a driver early Friday morning.

It happened around 2:30 a.m. at the intersection of Cliffdale Road and Prestige Boulevard.

Police say the driver of a 2005 Buick LeSabre was making a left turn on to Cliffdale Road at the same time a 2016 Cadillac Escalade was going through the intersection, and the two cars collided.

The driver of the Buick, 29-year-old Donte Jerrell Hooper of Fayetteville, died at the scene.

The driver of the Cadillac, 45-year-old Rapheal Lamonte Johnson of Raeford, suffered non-life threatening injuries, and was treated at the scene.

Cliffdale Road is currently closed between Rim Road and Winward Cove as authorities investigated crash. It was reopened around 6 a.m.
