WAKE COUNTY, N.C. (WTVD) -- Just in time for the weekend there's good news about swimming at Falls Lake.
Wake County reopened the swimming areas at Beaverdam and Holly Point North beaches Friday.
The county closed them on Tuesday because of high levels of E. coli bacteria.
The Sandling and Holly Point South beaches remain closed. Boating and fishing, however, are allowed in those areas.
Officials urge people to always wash hands with soap and water, and thoroughly shower after swimming, tubing or skiing in area lakes to reduce chances of contracting a recreational water illness.
