WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. -- One person is dead and another is hurt after being hit by a train in Winston-Salem.
Police said four adults and a child were standing on the Trestle Bridge at Salem Lake when a train started coming.
Two of the adults and the child were able to get off the bridge in time.
Police said 51-year-old Karen Harlow was killed.
Officials said it can take a loaded train up to a mile to stop.
