Marcel Williams surrendered to police Sunday night

FAYETTEVILLE (WTVD) -- The Fayetteville Police Department says two people were shot in the 500 block of Link Street around 4 a.m. Sunday morning.

Officials have charged Marcel Williams, 33, with attempted murder and assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury.

The victims told investigators they had just driven up and got out of their vehicle when they were shot.

Thirty-five-year-old Bernadette Suitt and 43-year-old Erran Council were taken to Cape Fear Valley Medical where they were listed in fair condition.

Williams surrendered to police Sunday night.
