Woman rescued from flipped car in Clayton
A woman was rescued from a flipped car in Clayton.

CLAYTON, North Carolina (WTVD) -- A woman had to be cut out of her car after it flipped into a ditch Wednesday evening and began to fill with water.

It happened at Amelia Church Road and Guy Road, Clayton Police said.

The Clayton Fire Department had to cut her out of the car.

The woman was taken to WakeMed with what police called non-life-threatening injuries.

The roads were closed during the rescue; they have since reopened.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
