CARRBORO, North Carolina (WTVD) -- When an officer with the Carrboro Police Department found a dog wandering around Wednesday night, he decided to throw the pup a bone and not charge him with trespassing.

According to social media, Officer Shine found the black dog at Carrboro Public Works.

The officer then took the animal to the Orange County Animal Shelter so he could find his "forever" home.
