Truck carrying asphalt crashes, closes US 70, Leesville Road in Durham

DURHAM (WTVD) -- US 70 East has reopened near Leesville Road in Durham, officials said, after a traffic wreck the stretch for a while Monday afternoon.

A dump truck carrying asphalt crashed, spilling its contents onto the roadway.

The Durham County Sheriff's Office, the North Carolina State Highway Patrol, and the North Carolina Department of Transportation were working the scene.

Officials did not release the status of the driver.
