Paige Nicole Carter, 26, of Dunn, is charged with concealing/failing to report a death after the body of an unidentified woman was found on a dirt path in a wooded area off Cool Springs Road near the intersection of Womack Road in Broadway August 17.

Detectives are waiting for a report on the cause of death from the medical examiner.

Coats said the second body was discovered during the investigation of the death of 39-year-old Marcus Lester Fisher of Dunn. His body was found in the backyard of a home in the 2000 block of Bailey Road in the Coats area early Thursday morning. Deputies found the body while responding to a disturbance call.

The report on the cause of death from the Chief Medical Examiner's Office in Raleigh is pending in that case too.

Carter is charged with one count of accessory after the fact and one count of felony conspiracy in connection with Fisher's death.

Carter had been held on a $500,000 bond. Her bond was raised an additional $250.000 for a total bond of $750,000.
