Police identify woman killed in Fayetteville drive-by shooting

Police said 20-year-old Jasmine Monique Street was riding in the passenger seat when she was struck.

FAYETTEVILLE, North Carolina (WTVD) -- Authorities in Fayetteville are investigating a deadly shooting after a woman was shot while riding in a car early Tuesday morning.

Authorities said just after 1:30 a.m., a man called 911 to report that an unknown vehicle fired multiple rounds into his 2007 Acura as he was driving near the area of Cliffdale Road and Rim Road.

Police said 20-year-old Jasmine Monique Street was riding in the passenger seat. When officers arrived at the scene, they learned the driver - 26-year-old Leo Cortez Johnson - had taken her to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center where she died.

Johnson was not injured.

Authorities say they've pinned down the location of the shooting as the 900 block of Kennesaw Drive and detectives are encouraging anyone who was in the area at that time and may have witnessed the incident to please come forward with information.
