CLAYTON, North Carolina (WTVD) -- A Clayton woman who went missing Tuesday afternoon has been found.

Authorities said Alice Stephenson was last seen by her co-workers and family at her job, the Walmart on U.S. 70.

Officers say the 75-year-old called her boyfriend after getting off of work around 4 p.m. She told him she was on her way home, but never showed.

According to police, the boyfriend reported Stephenson missing around 7 a.m. Wednesday; she was found before 6 p.m. that night.

A caller reported seeing a woman lying in a grassy, dirt lot along Main Street near the train overpass just before the American Legion building.

She was transported to WakeMed for an examination.
