Carnage Middle School in Raleigh sent students home early Thursday after a fire extinguisher burst.

School officials said a fire extinguisher in the 7th grade hall fell from the wall and ruptured Thursday morning.

It filled the air with the firefighting agent from the extinguisher.

During the school evacuation, one student fell on the stairs and hurt their leg, according to officials.

Some students were also being treated for difficulty breathing.

Buses were brought in to bring the students home.
