Police in Chapel Hill are investigating an armed robbery and kidnapping case that started in the Wendy's parking lot on Scarlett Drive.

In a news release, police said it happened September 27. The suspect showed a silver handgun and forced a victim to drive him to Raleigh. The suspect took cash and released the victim otherwise unharmed.

The victim described the suspect as a Hispanic male wearing black sweatpants, a black sweat top, a dirty orange shirt and no shoes. He had a leaf tattoo on his left hand and another tattoo on his left middle finger.

Chapel Hill Police ask if anyone has information, please call the police department or CrimeStoppers at (919) 942-7515.

Tips to CrimeStoppers are anonymous, and the caller may be eligible for a cash reward for information leading to an arrest.
