RALEIGH (WTVD) -- The 150th edition of the North Carolina State Fair opens Thursday, October 12 and runs through Sunday, October 22 at the State Fairgrounds in Raleigh.

Know for its unusual food, this year vendors will be dishing up a variety of new offerings, including, bacon mac and cheese, deep-fried pumpkin pie and deep-fried crab cake cheese curds.

Also, for the first time, fair-goers will be able to purchase flights of beer and wine to sample. The beverages will be available in the new Our State Public House in Heritage Circle. The attraction will feature 40 breweries and 40 wineries from across North Carolina.

The NC State Fair will celebrate its 150th anniversary by offering $1.50 admission, and participating food vendors will feature $1.50 portions on October 12.
