FAYETTEVILLE (WTVD) -- Fayetteville police have arrested three people accused of armed robbery and stealing a vehicle.

Police say the incident happened around 3:30 a.m. Saturday in the 1400 block of Cantrell Court in west Fayetteville. A man and his six-year-old son had just arrived in town from Missouri to visit for the holidays.

When they arrived, the man was confronted by two armed men and held at gunpoint while the suspects took his son out of the car.

The man and his son were not hurt, but police say the suspects took off in his vehicle.

Later that day, officers arrested the suspects: 23-year-old Darrian Djuan Reed, 18-year-old Diquarius Javarus Renfro, and 22-year-old Chanell Nesmith.

They're all charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon, second-degree kidnapping and possession of stolen property.

All three are being held at the Cumberland County Detention Center, each on a $400,000 secured bond.
