Fort Bragg paratrooper hurt after parachute malfunction
A Fort Bragg paratrooper was injured Wednesday after a parachute malfunction during a training exercise.

SCOTLAND COUNTY, N.C. (WTVD) -- A Fort Bragg paratrooper was injured Wednesday morning after a parachute malfunctioned during a training exercise.

Authorities said the incident happened during a military training exercise at the Laurinburg-Maxton Airport.

Officials said the paratrooper's parachute didn't open fully, and he was flown to a nearby trauma center.

ABC11 is working to learn the identity of the person injured.
