9 arrested in raids at two Knightdale sports bars

KNIGHTDALE, NC (WTVD) -- Police and agents with North Carolina Alcohol Law Enforcement have raided two sports bars in Knightdale and made 8 drug-related arrests and one arrest on an outstanding warrant.

The raids came after a three-month investigation.

The businesses involved are Rudino's Pizza in the 4000 block of Village Park Drive and The Sports Page in the 800 block of North Smithfield Road.

Daphne Lee Turner, 38, manager of Rudino's Pizza, is charged with conspiring to sell Valium/Diazepam; allowing controlled substance violations to occur on the licensed premises; possession with the intent to sell and deliver cocaine; conspiring to sell cocaine; and sale of cocaine.

Shawn Keith Bunce, 43, is charged with possession with the intent to sell and deliver Valium/Diazepam; sale of Valium/Diazepam; and conspiring to sell Valium/Diazepam.

Jennifer Caroline Brown, 37, is charged with possession with the intent to sell and deliver cocaine; sale of cocaine; possession with the intent to sell and deliver hydrocodone; and sale of hydrocodone.

Joseph Frank Currin III, 39, is charged with possession with the intent to sell and deliver codeine and sale of Tylenol with codeine.

Wesley Paul Cecnick, 31, is charged with possession and conspiracy to sell illegal drugs.

At The Sports Page, police arrested four men.

William Joseph McGee, 52, the owner of The Sports Page, is charged with illegal conduct on a licensed premises and conspiracy to sell cocaine.

Brian Keith Davis, 38, the manager of The Sports Page, is charged with possession with the intent to sell and deliver a counterfeit controlled substance; sale of a counterfeit controlled substance; and allowing controlled substance violations to occur on the licensed premises.

Jonathan Durand Williford, 30, a Sport Page employee, was arrested on an outstanding warrant for failure to appear on a driving while license revoked charge that is not connected to the other people charged.

Adrian O'Brian Bobo, 27, is charged with felony possession of cocaine.

"Criminal activity within ABC-licensed establishments such as these creates an unsafe environment for patrons as well as the community as a whole," said B.W. Collier, acting director of the State Bureau of Investigation. "Disregard for such illegal activity allows the criminal element in our communities to use these businesses as a haven for criminal acts. We are proud to partner with outstanding local agencies, such as the Knightdale Police Department, to thwart such behavior."

Rudino's Pizza in Knightdale is not part of the Triangle Rudino's sports bar chain.
