Accidents close I-40 east and west in Durham near Fayetteville Road

DURHAM (WTVD) -- Several accidents caused multiples lanes on both sides of Interstate 40 in Durham near Fayetteville Road to close.

Authorities say all lanes reopened around 5:50 p.m. but traffic is still moving slowly.

Police have not released the status of the victims involved.
