ALE raids two Fayetteville nightclubs
ALE special agents and Fayetteville Police officers served search warrants at Sparky's Sports Bar and Pub and Sharky's Cabaret.

FAYETTEVILLE (WTVD) -- ALE special agents and Fayetteville Police officers made more than a dozen arrests on Saturday after agents reportedly received complaints of drug trafficking and prostitution.

Sparky's Sports Bar and Pub and Sharky's Cabaret, both on Bragg Boulevard, were searched late Saturday. Police said the focus of the investigation was Sharky's Sports Bar and Pub.

Saturday night's arrests were a result of a seven-month investigation.

In that time, undercover ALE special agents reported purchasing cocaine and narcotics from 16 employees and one alleged drug supplier at the two nightclubs.

Suspects were arrested and taken to the Cumberland County Jail.

Both businesses had their alcohol sales permits immediately suspended following the arrests.

"The arrests and the suspension of alcohol sales at both of these locations should send a clear message that criminal activity at ABC permitted establishments will not be tolerated," said ALE special agent Derwin Brayboy. "These

locations have long been a problem for the community and for law enforcement."
