Florida conservation officers cited a man for illegal hunting after they spotted an unusual decoration inside his truck.

Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission officers said they made the discovery after stopping a truck in a wildlife management area to make sure the driver had a day pass.

While talking to the driver, officers said they spotted alligator parts scattered throughout the truck, including an alligator foot protruding from the dashboard.

The driver allegedly told officers he had hunted the gator a few years ago, but officers said they could smell that the animal had been killed more recently.

The man then confessed that he had killed the gator a few days earlier without a permit, officers said.
