Truck lands on top of man in serious accident in Johnston County

PRINCETON, N.C. (WTVD) -- A serious crash shut down a Johnston County highway on Sunday night.

The scene unfolded in the 2100 block of Braswell Road in Princeton just after 9:30 p.m.

The Highway Patrol told our crew on the scene the driver of a pick-up truck was speeding and hit a tree head-on.

The truck then slammed into another tree and flipped, throwing the driver out.

The vehicle landed on top of the driver. It took emergency crews about an hour to pull the driver out.

Paramedics rushed him to WakeMed. Authorities said his injuries are serious. His identity has not yet been released.
