DURHAM (WTVD) -- Water from Tuesday's rain running onto the road and freezing is blamed for a series of accidents involving nearly a dozen cars in Durham Wednesday morning.
It happened around 7 a.m. in in the 3700 block of South Miami Boulevard.
The road was not blocked, but traffic was backed up and motorists were advised to avoid the area.
The DOT sent sand trucks to improve traction and the road was cleared by 8:30 a.m.
