RALEIGH (WTVD) -- A car hit a 12-year-old boy riding a bike in Raleigh on Tuesday night.

Police said Marshaun Williams was riding around 8:45 p.m. in the 500 block of East Millbrook Road near Sweetbriar Drive. When he reached the intersection, he was struck by a 1999 Toyota sedan driven by 40-year-old Mustapha Sowe.
Williams was taken to WakeMed. Police believe his injuries are serious.
Millbrook Road was closed at the scene of the accident, but has since reopened to traffic.
Sowe has not been charged for the collision but was charged with driving with a suspended license. He was arrested on the scene for an outstanding warrant unrelated to the wreck.
Williams is a student at Carroll Middle School.
