Cary bank robbery suspect charged

CARY, N.C. (WTVD) -- A man is behind bars following a bank robbery at First Citizens Bank on Green Level Church Road in Cary on Wednesday.

Azam Khan, 27, of Cary, has been charged with common law robbery, which carries a penalty of 8 to 31 months in jail.

Cary police said they caught Khan before he could leave the scene.

They arrested him in the bank's parking lot and recovered the stolen cash.
