CARY, N.C. (WTVD) -- Cary police have charged a man for a fatal accident involving a pedestrian earlier this week.

The accident happened Wednesday around 7:30 p.m. on Davis Drive at Caviston Way.

Police said a pick-up truck hit 64-year-old Wei Ming Yang in the crosswalk while it was making a right-hand turn onto Davis Drive.

Friday, Cary police charged the truck's driver, 52-year-old Steve Biddy, with misdemeanor death by motor vehicle in the incident.

If convicted, Biddy could face a maximum of 150 days in jail.

While not a contributing factor to the crash, police said Biddy was also charged with simple possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia. They said he was not impaired at the time of the crash.
