A community came together Saturday to support 12-year-old shark attack victim Kiersten Yow.

HIGH POINT, N.C. (WTVD) -- A community came together Saturday to support 12-year-old shark attack victim Kiersten Yow.

Businesses around the Triad donated food and other supplies for the fundraiser at Fairfield Methodist Church. The meals were then sold to those who wanted to help.

Kiersten lost her left hand in a shark attack off the coast of Oak Island in June.

She was released from the hospital in late July.

Kiersten is going through lots of physical therapy, but she's adjusting back to her new normal as she starts school again.
