Corrections sgt. at Raleigh women's prison facing drug charges

RALEIGH (WTVD) -- A corrections sergeant at the N.C. Correctional Center for Women in Raleigh was arrested on drug charges Thursday.

Shemika Kinata Frederick, 28, was arrested Thursday morning at her home. A man she was with was also arrested, but his name is not known.

They are charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute or sell.

The Department of Public Safety said no personnel action has been taken against Frederick at this time.
