A crash knocked out power in Durham

DURHAM (WTVD) -- Power has been restored to nearly 700 homes after a single crash on North Duke Street at Stadium Drive early Saturday morning, though some homes are still in the dark.

Crews on the scene said a car crashed into a power pole. The driver was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

Durham police said N. Duke Street is shut down in both directions from Leon Street to Stadium Drive while crews clear the scene and work to restore power to the remaining customers.

Police are investigating. There's been no word if alcohol was a factor in the crash.
