WAKE COUNTY (WTVD) -- Authorities in Wake County had to rescue two drivers overnight after their vehicles got submerged in the same flood waters from the Little River.
Around 7 a.m., Chopper 11 HD captured rescue crews using a raft to rescue a woman from her vehicle after a strong current swept up her vehicle along a water-covered NC-97/Gannon Avenue, which is just west of Zebulon.
Authorities told ABC11 the drivers' vehicles ended up being caught in the same spot after they ignored a barrier and tried to drive through the water at West Gannon Avenue.
Neither driver was injured, but both vehicles were still in the flood waters at 10 a.m.
They were just some of the 887 swift water rescues reported across the state Sunday morning - Cumberland County officials reported that 574 people had to be rescued in the county alone.
