ST. LANDRY PARISH, LA -- A Louisiana sheriff's lieutenant is vowing to catch a burglar who broke into his favorite local business.[br /][br /]St. Landry Parish Sheriff's Lt. Clay Higgins addressed the thief in a two minute long Crime Stoppers video given to http://www.katc.com/Clip/11702106/st-landry-crime-stoppers-looking-for-thief-who-broke-into-stellys-supermarket#.VbFe2TrIEbg.facebook" TARGET="" REL=""]ABC affiliate KATC. He begins with a routine police report describing the burglary in detail, but then it got personal.[br /][Ads /][br /]"Look at me son, I'm talking to you," Lt. Higgins said while looking at the camera. "The sheriff likes Stelly's Restaurant, and so do I. The food here is good, and the folks are friendly. We're going to identify you, arrest you, and put you in a small cell. After that, I'm going to have a cheeseburger here with fries and a Coke and leave a nice tip for the waitress. Meanwhile, your next meal will be served through a small hole in a cell door."[br /][br /]The lieutenant says the burglar used a rock to smash open the front door of Stelly's Supermarket on July 8. He then kicked in the door to the office and stole hundreds of dollars in cash. Police say the crook left behind DNA evidence and a perfect boot print.[br /][br /]Crime Stoppers is now offering a reward for information leading to the man's arrest.[br /][br /]"By tomorrow, 100,000 people will have you watched you commit a felony. You will be recognized, and the people that know you don't really like you anyway, so when it comes down to a choice between you and a $1,000: They'll take the cash." Lt. Higgins said.[br /][br /]According to St Landry Crime Stoppers Facebook page, the suspect has not yet been apprehended.
