2 dogs die in Chapel Hill house fire
The home was heavily damaged.

CHAPEL HILL, North Carolina (WTVD) -- Two dogs died Wednesday morning in a Chapel Hill House fire.

It happened just after 8 a.m. near Homestead Road and Weaver Dairy Road.

Pictures from the scene showed the fire burned through the roof of the 2-story home and it was heavily damaged.

Firefighters quickly got the blaze under control, but they were too late to help the animals inside.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
