Dogs killed in Fayetteville fire

FAYETTEVILLE (WTVD) -- A fire Christmas day heavily damaged a Fayetteville home.

It happened just after noon at the home in the 700 block of Banner Elk Drive.

No one was home at the time of the fire.

Two dogs, however, died in the blaze.

No other injuries were reported.

The Red Cross was called in for assistance.

The preliminary investigation showed the cause of the fire was electrical in nature.
