Fayetteville police investigate assault that left man badly beaten

FAYETTEVILLE (WTVD) -- Fayetteville police are investigating an assault outside a restaurant.

It happened Sunday morning on Person Street.

Police were called to the scene after reports that shots were fired.

Authorities say there was no shooting, but they did find a man that was badly beaten.

His condition right now is unclear.
