Officials say woman was able to get out of the home, but two of her pets died in the blaze

RALEIGH (WTVD) -- A fire severely damaged a Raleigh home, and killed two pets Tuesday morning.

It happened just before 10 a.m. in the 3000 block of Stony Brook Drive in the Stony Brook Mobile Home Park off Capital Boulevard.

Images from Chopper11 HD showed several firefighters responded to the scene after heavy smoke was seen billowing from the mobile home.

The home suffered serious damage according to officials, but a woman inside was able to make it out.

Neighbors said she tried to save her two cats, but was unable to.

It is unclear what caused the fire, but officials said it started in a back bedroom.

The Red Cross has been called in to assist the homeowner.
