RALEIGH (WTVD) -- A homeowner suffered a minor burn to his arm after a fire broke out in his garage.

The fire happened just after 2 p.m. Monday at a home in the 4800 block of Gun Powder Place in north Raleigh.

Firefighters say the homeowner was working on one of his classic cars when gas fumes from the vehicle ignited.

The garage was destroyed.

A firefighter was sent to the hospital with a lower back injury, but should be OK.

The homeowner was treated at the scene.
