Teacher pleads guilty of sex crimes
A former Cumberland County teacher has been convicted of multiple sex crimes

FAYETTEVILLE (WTVD) -- A former Cumberland County teacher has been convicted of multiple sex crimes.

Bradley Dent, from Fayetteville, pleaded guilty to five counts of taking indecent liberties with children and sexual battery.

Dent was arrested in September 2012. He was a fourth grade teacher at Long Hill Elementary. He also worked as a counselor for a local counseling company.

He was originally charged for offenses involving five different victims including a former student, a neighbor, and three former counseling clients.

Dent has spent the past 15 months in jail. The judge gave him credit for time served and sentenced him to 60 months' probation.

Dent also needs to register as a sex offender.
