A former North Carolina State University employee was arrested on Friday for child sex charges.

RALEIGH (WTVD) -- A former North Carolina State University employee was arrested on Friday for child sex charges.

Marvin Christopher Jones, 44, was charged with first degree rape, first degree sex offense with a child and taking indecent liberties with a child.

According to the arrest warrant, the alleged crimes date back to 2007.

Jones is being held in the Wake County Jail under a $500,000 bond.

His first court appearance is scheduled for Monday at 9 a.m.
