FORT BRAGG (WTVD) -- Fort Bragg paratroopers from 3rd Battalion, 82nd Aviation Regiment, 82nd Combat Aviation Brigade, Task Force DUSTOFF, are again having their deployment to Afghanistan delayed.

They were originally scheduled to depart on Saturday in support of Operation Enduring Freedom, but their deployment was postponed to Tuesday due to weather conditions. Due to on-going weather issues in Afghanistan, officials decided to again postpone deployment.

The paratroopers and their families are now slated to say their goodbyes Thursday in the battalion hangar on Parham Boulevard next to the shopette on Simmons Army Airfield. About 75 troopers will then leave for Green Ramp before they depart.

Officials say the unit will provide medical support for U.S. and NATO forces. It is unclear how long they will be deployed.
